NFF Suspends Former NPFL Club Chairman On The Grounds of Match Fixing

Former Wikki Tourists chairman and newly appointed member of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NPFL by the Sports Ministry, Auwal Baba Jada has been suspended from all football-related activities for his involvement in match fixing scandals.

According to a Statement released by the Nigerian football federation,
"Auwalu Baba Jada has been suspended from all football-related activities pending investigations into the video recording in which he is apparently the principal character.

Another part of the statement also reads that, "Auwalu Baba Jada will have no role in any football activity, event or programme until the investigations are concluded, and this also means he is summarily suspended from his membership of the Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Professional Football League."

In the video which implicated Auwalu baba Jada, he was seen boasting of the numerous teams he had helped fix match for them to win in other to ensure their survival in the NPFL.

The teams included Lobi stars FC of markurdi, Kano Pillars. However, the investigations is said to be conducted by the ethics and integrity units of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Match fixing is detrimental to the growth of any football league and hampers investors or sponsors from coming to invest in any league. The NPFL has been experiencing the case of underground match fixing over the years, but none has been brought to the fore.

The ethics and integrity unit of the NFF must be up and running, so as to be able to uncover so many Auwalu baba Jada's who are hell bent on hampering the growth and  development  of the Nigerian Professional Football League.
