NFF: Alex Iwobi Opens up on things that has contributed to Super Eagles poor performance on home soil in recent games.

The fans of the super eagles has expressed displeasure with the recent performance of the super eagles, following their double header qualifiers against the wild dogs of Guinea Bissau last week.

Guinea Bissau a lowly ranked team in the FIFA ranking came to M.K.O Abiola stadium and defeated the super eagles in the first leg, before a Moses Simon penalty in the second leg ensured redemption for the eagles.

However, their performance in both legs of the game weren't impressive at all, while various people may blame it on the coach and other factors, super eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi had a different opinion.

In an interview with the beautiful game podcast, the Everton midfielder had this to say on what's responsible for the super eagles poor results on home soil.

He was quoted as saying:

“We don’t know if we are going to have a nice pitch to play, Obviously we got a new coach and we played Sierra Leone and we beat them 2-1 in a very difficult game, then we played Sao Tome and Principe and beat them 10-0 because we played on a great pitch.

A lot of us play in Europe now and we play on great pitches where it is easy to manipulate the ball around and play freely.

If we had that in Nigeria it will be difficult to beat us and I am confident to say that not many teams can beat us."

Do you agree with him on this?
