At the WAFU B Under-20 Cup in Ghana, the Nigeria’s Falconets continued to impress the Nigeria fans after finishing too their group with a 3-0 win over Burkina Faso to reach the semifinals of the competition.

The damsels having won their first two games against Niger Republic and Togo, the Falconets were out to end the group phase with a 100 percent win when they took on Burkina Faso ladies in Kumasi.

The Goals 

The Nigerian girls needed just less than 30 minutes to open the scorelines, the opening goal came through the tournament’s top scorer Opeyemi Ajakaye, who pulled off an terrific chip to open the score with her fifth goal of the tournament.

The under-20 side couldn't net more goals in the first half, as the game was stalled to a 1 goal lead after the Burkinabe players dropped deeper and deeper and formed a defensive waslls to prevent more goals from pouring in, denying the Falconets the freedom to penetrate their defensive lines.

The Falconets doubled their advantage in the 64th minute through Ajakaye, who rifled home after pouncing on a loose pass from a Burkinabe defender, taking her tally to six in three games.

With the match drawing to a close, substitute Flourish Sabastine added a third goal, her second of the tournament, for the Falconets after she was played in by Amina Bello.

The Nigerian Falconets eased passed to a comfortable win at the end of the match and will lock horn with Group A runners-up Benin Republic for a place in the WAFU B final.
