WAFCON 2022: How Morocco plans to thrash Super Falcons with about 50,000 spectators, will it succeed?

 


The Super Falcons of Nigeria are unarguable the most feared and favorites in the ongoing women's AFCON in Morocco. 

Nigeria after surpassing the physically strong Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon at the quarter final will lock horns with Morocco feminine today evening. Morocco defeated the WAFCON 2022 best group stage losers Bostwana in a 1:0 victory to clinch the ticket for the World Cup next year. 

Morocco 50,000 crowd strategy

Morocco national team are reportedly planning strategically as the host nation, to command a crowd of about 50,000 to cheer up the morale of their ladies. This is to influence the game psychologically on the pitch and playing mind game from the vantage point.

Nesryne El Chad Media Briefing ahead of Clash

Nesryne El Chad said Morocco want to build on their World Cup qualification by reaching the WAFCON 2022 finals.

El Chad believed the Nigerian team is formidable and stronger, but said they would do everything they could to reach the final.

While Morocco is gradually joining the elites on the African continent, Nigeria Super Falcons have built a strong reputation and command, winning the crown on nine different occasions.

Chatting with the media ahead of the Monday’s clash, the defender said the team has moved on from the World Cup qualification and want to follow it up with a final ticket.

She also banking on the 50,000 expected at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium, to lift the players when they face Nigeria.

“The atmosphere has not changed at all since the beginning of the tournament, it is always the same. We are a family and we are very happy to be together.”

“And what could be better than playing a WAFCON with your family? Yes, there was a lot of euphoria after qualifying for the World Cup, but the most important thing now is the semi-final. We always work with a lot of seriousness and in a good mood.”

Will the 50,000 spectators matter to the Falcons, who will be marching into the pitch like a queen that wants to defend her crown, having a strong pedigree flying along with them to cheer them up rather than a crowd which they already know that they are standing on a limited ground. 


Super Falcons will be looking to win the title for the 10th time should they lift this WAFCON in Morocco, setting a record in women's football at large and most successful side in both men and women football championships in CAF events.
