Akwa United continues her silver wares accumulation to her trophy cabinet after defeating her local state rivals yesterday evening at the God'swill Akpabio stadium.
The success at the Nest of Champions on the 17th, June indicates that it is the indisputed most successful club in Akwa Ibom state.
The Uyo base football team this last night defeated Dakkada FC 2-1 to win a record extending 13th Akwa Ibom State FA Cup title.

Akwa United’s player with the jersey no.28 David Onovo headed home the first goal of the match in the 28th minute. The NPFL Champions added another goal in the 33rd minute , Franklin Matib tapped in from Evans Ogbonda’s cross to double the lead for Akwa United.
Dakkada Fc halfed the deficit with a goal in the 45th minute when Edidiong Ezekiel’s rocket shot strike past goalkeeper Uche Okafor . It ended in the first half 2-1 in advantage of Akwa United.
During the halftime interval there was procession and placement of the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup trophy by Captain Ubong Friday of Akwa United Fc and his Dakkada Fc counterpart Aniekan Ekpe.
In the second half of the game there was absolute no goal from any of the sides despite an improved and more challenging Dakkada.
The Coach Umar Danlami tutored men as per sports ration stated that "Dakkada came close to scoring on two occasions in the final twenty minutes but efforts by Emmanuel Ayaosi and substitute Isreal Emmanuel were inches away from the target."
Akwa United held on for a 2-1 win over Dakkada Fc to be crowned Akwa Ibom State FA Cup Champions for the 13th time. Akwa United Fc and Dakkada Fc will play in the Aiteo Cup National finals alongside finalists from the other states in Nigeria plus the FCT.
