Why Sadio Mané's Move to Bayern Munich was Inevitable and what Triggered the move

The end of the 2021/22 English Premier league season usually comes with different transfer news and speculations making the rounds.

One of such transfer speculations as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, would be the exit of Senegalese star Sadio Mané from the Merseyside club following their champions league defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.

The forward had joined the Reds from fellow premier league side Southampton in the summer of 2016 for a reported fee of £34 million.

Since he had often humiliated them in several clashes between the two sides, hence why Jurgen Klopp signed him.

During his time with the club he formed a formidable partnership with fellow African Mohammed Salah and Brazilian forward Firmino, playing consistently and staying injury free.

His six year stay at the club will indeed be considered a memorable one, having played a total of 269 games, scored 120 goals and gave 38 Assists.

He also helped them win the premier league trophy which had eluded them for 30 years, a Champion league trophy, Super cup, Club World Cup, FA Cup and League Cup.- [ViaWikipedia]

It will indeed  be safe to say that Mané won it all at Liverpool and could be considered as a legend for his achievements with the club.

Why His Exit Was Imminent:

When one takes a look at what Sadio Mané achieved with Liverpool in the six years at the club, one would hope that he ranks amongst the top earners in the club's wage structure.

But that is not so, as the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Mo Salah, Thiago Alcantara, Arnold, Firmino, Fabinho, Alison Becker, Henderson, Milner, Naby Keita and Oxlade Chamberlain earns way more higher wages than the Senegalese at the club. - [Via LFC globe.]

Alex - Oxlade Chamberlain one of the mediocres at Anfield earning way more than Mané while contributing less than the Senegalese star, shows how Mané was underappreciated by the Liverpool board.

Despite what he has done for the club during the six years he's been with the team. This in particular will be the reason why he's decided to call it time on his Liverpool stay.

Bayern Munich Comes Calling:

Following their champions league lost to Real Madrid last month, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Mané might've played his last game for the Merseyside club.

However it is believed that the former Southampton ace had reportedly requested an improved weekly salary of £400,000 per week.

A figure that would have seen him join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea on the list of the highest earners in the Premier League.

However, the involved parties are said to have failed to reach an agreement, paving way for the sale of Mane who is expected to pen a three-year deal with Bayern Munich in a deal worth up to £35M.

According to The Mirror, Mane is expected to pocket about £250,000 per week once he completes his move to the Allianz Arena.

The wages are more than double what he's currently earning at Anfield, as he's currently on a £100,000-a-week paycheck, and it indeed be a plus to the Senegalese star when you consider what he's been doing in his native home town of Bambali.

Munich may have paid more than they wanted but one thing they cannot dispute is the quality they are getting. A new era is dawning for Liverpool, with Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz providing the foil for Salah, but it will still take some time to forget the past.
