CAF: African Football Governing Body Approves The Following Stadium In Nigeria For CAF Inter Club Competitions.

Ahead of the CAF inter clubs competitions that's about to kick off  during the latter part of this month, African football governing body has approved the following stadium for which Nigerian clubs will use to execute their home games.

This has come  as a result of the  poor  state of football pitch and stadium used across the country by clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League, has been one of the factors hindering the development of the league and making it attractive over the years.

Apart from some top clubs such as Enyimba FC of Aba, Akwa United FC of Uyo and some other few clubs in the Nigeria's elite division, who can boast of better better playing turfs and good stadium, other pitch used by some of the club's have been nothing to write home about.

This is the more reason why the Nigerian Professional Football League management known as the League Management Company has often times banish teams from their home ground to playing  in another state with better playing turfs.

However, as a result of this sickness bedeviling Nigerian Football, the Confederation of African Football has approved seven stadiums in Nigeria to host CAF Inter club competitions and they include the following:

The Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo, Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium (Edo State) Mobolaji Johnson Stadium(Lagos), Enyimba International Stadium (Aba), Stephen Keshi Stadium (Asaba), MKO Stadium (Abuja) and Adokie Amasiamaka Stadium (PH).

As a result of this arrangement by CAF, it now looks certain that of the four clubs representing Nigeria in this year's CAF inter club competition, only Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, may likely continue to make use of their home ground.

The other three clubs including Plateau United, Remo Stars and Kwara United who's stadiums have not met CAF requirements may likely play their home game away from home.

And it has  been speculated  that Remo Stars FC of Ikenne may likely make use of  the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, While Fidelis Ilechukwu led side Plateau Utd and Kwara Utd may likely make use of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

This may in turn likely affect these clubs due to the importance of your home support and how it's always integral to teams. But on the other hand it therefore highlights more reasons why we've got to improve our stadiums and for the NFF to see how they could put an end to this menace by building top notch sport facilities.
