The ex- Italian midfield maestro is close to securing his first managerial job abroad after Juve setbacks
Andrea Pirlo is set to be the new head coach at Turkish Super Lig side Fatih Karagümrük. Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa under Pirlo may rejuvenate his play back as the club will set for overhaul of playing style.
Turkish clubs are not big names among other European pairs as in the major Leagues. To some quarters it's a league of retirement for declining elite players in Europe. By extension it's clubs has unable to attract top coaches and rising coaches.
That narrative may begin to change when the official announcement of Andrea Pirlo is finalized.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Pirlo is close to agreeing to personal terms with Karagümrük. The 2006 FIFA World Cup winner is expected to lead the Black Red into next season.
Pirlo will bring with him new style, pattern and methods of football to Fatih Karagümrük. His appointment would set to put Fatih in top contender for trophies in the Turkish league in coming seasons.
Ahmed Musa would be part of Pirlo's rebuilding plan if the Super Eagles winger would improve on himself physically and on the pitch play.

Musa will work under a manager that will bring Midfield dynamism to club. Pirlo will ensure his team would have flexible playmaker that will connect with his attackers at the flanks and the forward in an ease manner.
Pirlo was one of Italian great playmakers and one of Europe's most decorated midfielder in modern football. He knows what having a playmakers in a team would mean for his building process.
Most importantly, it would increase the goal ratio of Fatih, which would definitely translate to Fatih progression in league table.
There is saying that goes- Goals are Food for Strikers and by extension attackers. If Pirlo brings in Midfielders with qualitative creativity and dynamism in his Midfield, Musa's expected goal scoring ratio would be increased.
Currently in Abuja with the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa would be delighted to work with Pirlo, who is widely considered one of euro best playmakers in history.
Musa joined Karagümrük last year on a free transfer via a brief spell at NPFL side Kano Pillars after ending his association with Saudi Arabia Pro League giants Al Nassr FC.
The 29-year-old winger signed a two-year deal with the club that will expire at the end of June 2023.
The 2021/22 season, Musa contributed only two goals and two assists in 31 league games for Fatih Karagümrük as the Turkish side finished eighth in the Super Lig.
It is expected that with Pirlo's appointment that would change for the former CSKA player.
Pirlo hung his playing boots in 2017 and briefly took charge of the Juventus under-23 team in 2020 before he was named as the head coach of Juventus’ senior side for the 2020-21 season.
