PFA Awards 2022: Mohammed Salah wins for the Second Time, (See Records He Made)

Mohammed Salah wins Premier League Player of the Year award after his incredible 2021-22 season, with City Phil Foden retaining his Young Player of the season title.

The Egyptian Messi, 29, joins a prestigious list of EPL legends including Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry to win the annual award more than once.

Salah tied Spurs Son Heung-min for the Golden Boot with 23 goals last season.

His heroics and bravery led the Reds to within minutes of their second and 20th Premier League crown under Klopp, but was impede by Manchester City's heroics late in the season finale Aston Villa led Gerrard.

The Egyptian star joins United's Ronaldo, Arsenal's Henry, Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Gareth Bale and Kevin de Bruyne as the only stars to win the award more than once. And he is also the first African to have done such in major European leagues.

On his reward for a fine season, Liverpool ace Salah said: “It’s a great honour to win a trophy, individual or collective and this one is big so, very happy and very proud of that.

"This one is a really good one to win, especially because it’s voted by players.

"It shows you that you’ve worked really hard and you get what you worked for.

"I have my room with trophies in a cabinet and I made sure that I had another space for one more.

"I always keep space and just try to imagine that the trophies are going to come.”
