CAF: Enyimba FC New Home Ground For CAF Super League Revealed, as FIFA/CAF Delegates Arrives to Inspect the Facility Ahead of Preparations for CAF Super League

 

Akwa Ibom State capital Uyo, will today receive a six-man FIFA/CAF delegation  aboard Ibom Air today to inspect the Nest of champions, which is been selected as one of the possible venues alongside M.K.O Abiola stadium, Abuja to host CAF Super League tournament in the continent.

The CAF delegates will  inspect the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, ahead of the CAF Super League that will take center stage in August this year. 

The FIFA/CAF delegation according to SportsRation arrived Abuja on Monday, and when they reach Uyo today, they will visit and inspect facilities in three top hotels namely; Ibom Icon Hotels Uyo, Four Points by Sheraton Hotels Ikot Ekpene and Monty Hotels Limited Uyo from 12 noon and 4:30pm.

They will also inspect facilities at the Nest of Champions and the training pitch between 5pm-8pm. The inspection team comprises of Mathew Dean Gilasbey from England, Muhammad Feizal Sidat of Mozambique, and Nasiru Sarkintudu of Nigeria. Others are; Ticciati Duccio, Claudio Zanca and Stacchino Ivan all from Italy.

However, it is also reported that Nigeria's sole representative in the tournament Enyimba FC of Aba who are two time CAF champions league, will be making use of the stadium as their home ground since their original home ground doesn't meet CAF standards.


The Elephants of Aba will get a total of $2.5M for participating, while the winner of the  tournament gets $11.6M.
