French Ligue 1 campaigners, FC Nantes have begun discussions with Moses Simon and his representatives in order to extend the Super Eagles winger's contract.

The Nigeria international has been one of the most influential players for the Canaries over the past few seasons

Simon explicit talent and technical abilities with the balls at his feet has set him high among peirs both in the national team and club side.

The super eagles left winger at the AFCON tournament in Cameroon showed his masterclass displays for the Nigerian team, earning him super eagles most valuable player at the CAF tournament.

Moses Simon From a Loanee to Permanent Deal and Extension

Simon joined Ligue 1 team Nantes from La Liga side Levantes first on loan in 2019. After the jet-heeled forward impressed during the season-long loan with the french team thereby making Nantes wants his service at the club the next season. The Ligue 1 side splashed five million euros to acquire his services permanently in 2020.

Moses Simon continued with his form with the french club thereafter, began making headlines in both the french league and national level.

Simon exceptional talents in a formidable team like Nantes made the french club ride to the path for trophy. 

Last season, Simon played a crucial role as Nantes won the French Cup, the first in two decades for the Ligue 1 side.

In his time with the Canaries, Simon has scored 24 goals and made 23 assists in all competitions.

This term, the 27-year-old Nigerian international has netted three league goals in six appearances. That tally is already half the six goals Simon managed in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season.

Nantes Wants Moses Simon to Stay at the Club, Offers Contract Extension

According to reports from Tribune Nantaise, Nantes are keen on keeping Simon beyond the terms of his current contract.

The GBS Academy product is reportedly being offered a minimum two-year extension to his current deal that expires in the summer of 2024.

The talented super eagles star has received praises from fans owing to fine form consistency for his team. He joins some of Nigerian foreign based players who are performing exceptionally well in club level, the likes of Alex Iwobi for Everton, Victor Osimhen at Napoli, Ighalo in Al HILAL etc

Simon is presently in Constantine, where he is part of the Super Eagles squad preparing to face Algeria in an international friendly on September 27.
