Super hot Nigerian striker is once in the news again, as the Genk man is monitored by an Italian Serie A side Lazio.
Lazio are in the hunt for attackers this upcoming season as they hope to push upward to Serie A top position.
The Italian side Interest for the Nigerian indicates that they up for the challenge of the league title next season. As the acquisition of the Genk player will add to her firing power at the offensives due to numbers of goals the Super Eagles skipper have banged last campaign.
But the player is reportedly set for a huge price tag as Lazio will have to dig deep into their pockets to acquire the Super Eagles star
Lazio have reportedly been told that they can sign Paul Onuachu this summer as long as they are prepared to match KRC Genk’s eight-figure valuation of £30 million.
Genk Financial Constraints and Big Name Sales
The Nigeria international has been in superb form once again for Genk this campaign, bagging his 34th goal of the campaign in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Anderlect.
That includes a return of 32 goals in Belgian Division A, but the Genk find themselves in a difficult financial position.
Genk may be forced to offload one or two big-name players in the summer to help with cash flow, while others have been asked to take a pay cut for the 2021-22 campaign.
Onuachu is among those that could make way in the coming months, but only if an interested party is willing to pay around £30m.
Fellow Serie A side Fiorentina are also rumoured to be weighing up a move for the Ebedie product.
Paul Onuachu with his great performance and goals has not been able to break into the Nigerian top attackers, as he has been outmatched and outcompete by the likes of Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Emmanuel Dennis and Sadiq Umar.
