Joseph Peseiro Getting Along with Players: Reveals his Admiration for Super Eagles Stars

  


It seems the Portuguese boss has been going along smoothly with his Nigerian squad ahead of their encounter with fellow west African neighbors Sierra Leone on Thursday.

The super courageous and confident Super Eagles boss Peseiro reveals to press what he admires about Nigerian players

The Nigerian coach according to him loves the adaptive qualities of his players to his methods as he harps on principles over model

The Peseiro revealed what he likes about his players and what they bring to the general setup in their approaches to games.

The Portuguese coach in Wednesday’s Press briefing ahead of the game against Sierra Leone ahead of the 2023 AFCON, said training the Nigerian Football team offers a coach quality personnel.

He said Nigerian players have quality and they learn quickly.

“I know I have players with quality who learn very quickly,” he said.

“It’s different when you train Nigeria than other teams who don’t have qualities like our players. What I know is that they learn quickly,” he said.

“I like to attack, I like to play with high pressure, I like to command the game with the ball. I can do it with 5-3-2, 4-4-2 and 3-4-3 as you want but we need time.

“It’s not about the model, the main thing is the principle.”

Francis Uzoho has also express his satisfaction with the coach current style with the eagles. Uzoho who made a u-turn after temporary suspending his featuring for team after series of threat from few angry Nigerian fans alongside his fellow goalkeeper at the first call up by the Portuguese. 

Uzoho stated that Peseiro's method and style has improved his quality, he made important saves in their friendlies.


Peseiro's First Major Challenge

The Super Eagles will face Sierra Leone on Thursday and will hope to banish the memories of their five-game winless run. Peseiro is also saddle with the responsibility of bringing African to it's feet after failing to qualify for the Qatar 2022 FIFA world cup. 

Peseiro also has track record of not winning any trophies with about or over 14 football professional teams.

Since taken over the Super Eagles job he had lost 2 of his friendlies against mexico and Equador respectively. 

Nigeria haven’t won any match since defeating Guinea Bissau at the AFCON.
